My Ideas for revamping user inventory/crafting

Hi,
Today's FFF has inspired me to add my 5 cents to the redesign process.
I thought, hmm, how would I make it better.. Bear in mind this is just a thought and I want also your opinions.
Essentially comes down to this: Merge crafting and Inventory.
Pros: You can actually have twice the screen size since you don't have to double up on everything.
Cons: Confusing?
How we would do this:
Essentially you would only have a single screen with items. The items you have would have a green background, the ones you don't have but can craft would be yellow, and the ones you cannot craft would be red (like currently).
Top right of the screen would show a total amount of items that your character is carrying for example 56/81 and would become red when you have less than slots available, and perhaps yellow when 15, and so on).
I'm trying to make a mockup of this but it is hard using Paint
But essentially you would have all the available items in one screen and they would be color coded depending on whether you have them, can craft them, or not. As the FFF says, the toolbar would work as a shortcut. But look, if you DONT have the item, double clicking the item will auto-craft it! Single click will allow you to ghost-place it as it was recommended.
Please let me know your opinions. Don't let this die as I think this is worth considering and debating. Cheers!
