With 0.15, the query ('q') tool allows us to select a building in the world from our inventory.
However, if said item isn't in the inventory, this doesn't work. It would be nice to get the option to get a ghost/blueprint from a building you don't have in your inventory, e.g. by pressing SHIFT-q.
Right now, if you want to copy a building by blueprint (which I need to do rather often), you have to get a clear blueprint, captuire the building, place the created blueprint, and then get rid of the blueprint. With the suggested functionality, this would be much easier.
[0.15] Ghost/blueprint query tool if you don't have the item

This would be super useful. (It should also work for concrete/stone paths of course.)
It should be possible to get a "ghost item" in the cursor from the player's construction menu too, perhaps by shift+clicking.

This would be very nice. similarly, to be able to build/continue tracks without track on you. generally the bots place all tracks in my inventory before I get to where I'm going with them.
