Turn hover feedback yellow border white when settings match

When you're copy-pasting settings it'd be nice to get feedback when the paste takes, how about displaying the hover border in white when the settings match?

And I point to what I've said there: What's really needed is mass copy/paste. Copy setting. Select targets with a lasso. Paste.

Like this? Not a lasso / selection box but from a usability standpoint I like this very much.

Nope, need a selection mechanic. I don't know about you, but I am terrible at moving my cursor in an x/y direction so the "feature" shown in the image will cause me more often than not to paste the wrong object. I agree with Sslik, a click & drag lasso system would be better in the same way a rail planner is better.
