Normal engine unit can't be hand crafted

It's been a lot since lubricant was removed as one of the materials to build it, so shouldn't it be possible to craft it by hand?
I'm one of those that thinks the car and the tank shouldn't be so easily picked up and deployed on the go, or at least shouldn't be hand crafted, t makes some combat aspects of the game a bit trivial. When a vehicle gets destroyed and you are in pursuit, you just need to accept it and let it go

I personally think less items should be hand craftable. The fact that the engine is not pushes you a whole lot more to automated production.

Real life engines aren't handcrafted either, and never really have been.

They've always required machinery to achieve the necessary component alignments and accuracy to operate properly.

On the other hand, the steam engines rightly need that same sort of equipment. But small steam engines made out of tin cans and the like are possible at least.

There are a lot of issues around discrepancy between research and crafting.
