As the title, it would be nice if I can dismantle unused objects to recover raw materials, or a part of it.

Lice early furnaces, pickaxes and drills.

This can already be done - just set the minable property of the entity prototype to the resources you want to recover.

Currently most entities are set so that the mined item is whatever was used to place the entity, rather than the materials used to make that item.

For example, in a wood mod I'm working on, dismantling wooden flooring will yield random amount of wood planks rather than wood floor (notion being that player is recovering what they can from a worn wooden floor). The planks can then be used to make new wooden flooring, or anything else that has planks in its recipe.

IMO your request would be better as a mod request: viewforum.php?f=33
