As we know, the team are busy trying to make the terrain more diverse. i think a suitable addition could be geothermal vents. largish "hole" where steam pours out. can be harnessed by a geothermal boiler. naturally aliens flock around and form nests near the vents. sulfur crystals precipitate near them as well, being mine able for sulfur.

This idea reminds me the RimWorld's Geothermal Generator

1, Gather it with Pumpjack
2, Pump it to Steam Engine

Maybe give the Pumpjack an input for water?

I like this idea. Seems like a reasonable concept. With the addition of nuclear power, having an intermediate step between steam/solar and that seems like a good idea. It's also somewhat balanced by it being tied to a specific location.
