New Achievement Ideas

Please post your achievment ideas here. I will join other achievement ideas into this.

Here are some play style restrictions or settings that I've enjoyed playing with. This was before achievements were a thing but I think they'd make good achievements because they made for interesting games with and more replay ability.

Tree Hugger:
Complete the game without causing the destruction of any non-dead trees.

Solar Furnace:
Complete the game without crafting any steam engines, or non-electric furnaces. (Hard)

Pew Pew:
Complete the game on a map with a medium or smaller starting area, very high frequency enemy bases, and aggressive enemies without firing a single bullet, rocket, grenade, flame, or mine (including turrets). Laser turrets, Personal Laser defence, Distractor & Destroyer capsules are OK.

Using iron chests instead of wooden chests would be difficult but not impossible.

I don't know how you could play this game without using small power poles. In order to get medium electic poles you need steel and green science. This is technically possible, but I think this is too hard to be a good achievement.

How would you get the technology to unlock solar panels without using a steam engine to supply the power?

Biter-Kill Achievement

Hey all,

just got into the game and its amazing. Just one thing: we have achievements for building, researching, comitting suicide with trains, burn trees, sending fish to the moon and whatever.

However, we dont have achievements for killing biters. I would like to see some achievements for that:

- First blood: Kill 100 Biters

- Massacre: Kill 100.000 Biters

- Genocide: Kill 1.000.000 Biters

- Drive-By: Kill a biter with a moving vehicle (driven by the player).

and last but not least:

- Eaten alive: Get killed by biters.

We could also divide between kills made by turrets and towers and kills made by the player.

I know and agree with you if you say that there are more important things to add than more achievements, but I think its a good "sidedeal" for dev's if they are bored sometimes.

What do you guys think about the mentioned ideas?

Achievement: finish the game without using any chest

No chests, No wooden, no iron, no steel, no requester, no provider, no storage, no active, NO CHESTS

Will be fun to keep every thing even more balanced.

normally chest can buffer, without it it's more difficult.

BONUS: What about storage tanks??? :D

Storage tanks are needed to store the useless heavy/light oil until you research oil cracking, so playing without them wouldn't be possible

Huh, that's interesting... but why? I'd expect a boiler to explode if you put oil in it.

You forgot about Fuel Cubes. Have fun storing them tho.

Don't forget to disable train wagons too...

I joined it with the other topic cause I thought a bit around and I just won't manage "simple" achievements. And I'm sure, forum readers won't read also single threads.

Equipment:

-Worn out: break a pickaxe
-Took a beating: break armor.
-Getting an upgrade: Build Steel Pickaxe

-Iron man: equip Power Armor.
-Gold-titanium-alloy man: equip Power Armor MK2

-We canna take much more of this: take enough damage to drop shields from 100% to 0%.

-Red wunz go fasta: equip exoskeleton equipment.
-Flash: equip 6 exoskeleton equipment.
-See in the dark: equip night vision.

-Solar power courses through my being: equip personal solar panel.
-Unlimited power: equip portable fusion reactor.

Combat Equipment

-Grenade machine gun: Throw a grenade while firing any weapon.

-Peashooter: Build a pistol
-For 12 Seconds: Build an SMG
-Big Game Hunter: Build a Shotgun
-Autoloader: Build a Combat Shotgu
-Fire Ze Missiles: Build a Rocket Launcher
-Phlogiston: Build a Flamethrower.

-65% More bullet, Per Bullet: Build Piercing Bullet Ammo.
-Teflon Coating: Build Piercing Shotgun Shells.
-Bang for your buck: Build Explosive Rocket.


Robots

-We can fix it/Duck Tape Fixes everything: Use a repair pack.
-Automatic Maintenance: Robot uses repair pack.
-Field repairs:Have a personal roboport Robot repair a vehicle.
-Wait for me:Run away from personal robot trying to charge and dock.

-Additional Pylons/Signal Lost/Unit Limit Reached: Lose a robot drone to unit limit.

Gnat/ Mosquito : Deploy Defender Capsule
Mosquito/ Frikking Laser Bolts : Deploy Distractor Capsule
Frikkin Laser Beams/Ima Firin Mah Lazor : Deploy Destroyer Capsule.

Biters

-Why won't it DIE!: Spend more than 10 seconds shooting a big biter with a SMG.

-Can't Walk and Chew Bubblegum: Kite a Spitter while shooting at it. (spitters can't move and attack at the same time, so you can kite them, attack, and they can't retaliate)

-The spice must flow: kill a big worm.

-Roach motel : use slowdown capsule
-Fumigate : kill worm with poison capsules.
-Biological warfare : kill 100 units with poison capsules

-Turret Creep: Kill a structure with a turret.
-Dirty Work: Kill a structure with deployed Robots Drones.

-Awake : Reach 15% biter evolution
-Irritated : Reach 30% biter evolution
-Annoyed : Reach 35% biter evolution
-Angry : Reach 55% biter evolution
-Incandescent Fury : Reach 65% biter evolution
-Apocalyptic Rage : Reach 99% biter evolution

Modules

-Going green: install 100 mk1/mk2/mk3 effectivity modules.
-Overclocking: install 100 mk1/mk2/mk3 speed modules.
-Something for... less something: install 100 mk1/mk2/mk3 productivity modules.

-Squeezing every last drop (of oil): boost a pump jack to 800% speed.

Resources

-Black gold: Mine some oil
-Unobtainum: Obtain an alien artifact.


Structures

-Shedding some light/better to light a candle: build a light.

-Makeshift :Build Burner Inserter
-Robot Arm :Build Basic Inserter
-Super Speed :Build Fast Inserter
-Image Recognition :Build Filter Inserter
-Giant Claw :Build Stack Inserter

-Automated defense: produce bullet magazine and transfer to turret without robot or player action
-Tower defense: deploy 100 turrets.

-Building roads: build concrete section 1000 tiles long.


Power

-For a rainy day. Build and charge 10/100/1000 accumulators.

-Brownout: go from 20GW+ production to 500kw- production without network alterations.

Vehicles

-Full complete stop: get run over after getting out of a vehicle.
-Siege mode:deploy tank

-Railroad tycoon: Build 20 trains 40 stations, and 10,000 track sections.
-All aboard: Automatic train leaves station
-Passenger train: Ride an automated train
-Requesting pickup: Call train to you and get on
-Train Hopping: Get on a moving train.


Rocket

-Spare parts: send rocket parts up in a rocket.
-Bigger on the inside: send a rocket(ammo) up in a rocket.
-Test Run: send an empty rocket up.

Science

-A bit of Science : manufacture 10 science pack 1 total
-Science harder : manufacture 100 science pack 1 and 2
-Science is complex : manufacture 1000 science packs 1,2,3
-All the science : manufacture 10000 of each science pack
-Science faster : manufacture 100 of each science pack per minute

Player

-Pyromaniac: Burn down 100 trees.

-Tastes like fish: Eat a fish

-Taking a spill/My backpack literally exploded.: Spill an item on ground due to canceled crafting

Finish the game with all Map Generator settings to verry low (except for enemy base)

Ground Embargo: Do not lay a single belt.

I intend to do a pure logistic run come 0.15 =D because now that I build my factory around a central belt channel it's all a bit samey and I only need about a hundred logistics bots (until I walk in and they try to deliver 500 belts, 250 miners, 400 rails, and 50 train signals, and collect 1,000 wood).
