Has this been suggested yet? I'd love the ability to break stuff from inventory into raw materials - old stuff accumulates that I don't use anymore but I feel bad dumping it all into a random chest and forgetting about it. Could we break it down and retrieve at least a portion of raw materials?

This is certainly in the top 3 of suggested features going by the number of threads.

Very cool, looking forward to this feature! Finally I'd be able to put my old armors and obsolete flotilla of cars to good use.
