A programmable component

I wanted to blink a message made with lights but I spent about half an hour to make a good clock for it, even for the normal use of electronic automation (make factories), logic system is not very easy to use, I mean that I spend much time and ressources to do a simple thing.
The idea comme from the console, if I can run a LUA program on it, why not in a craftable bloc?
I don't know if there's a mod for that but I think it could be a better gameplay with that.

There is a mod, that can do this. (Sorry no link, cause I type on iPhone.)

thank you for the answer, you don't even have the name of this mod?
also, I was speaking about the gameplay, I mean the unmodded game, seriously I never seen someone using the logic system ;)
