Hm. Dead bodies! The pathfinding tries to avoid paths, with many dead bodies... The more you kill at one place, the more the pathfinder searches a better way.

I would actually like something that attracts their attention, lure them into a mine field

Masses of oil so that they just slide on / catch on fire / make the burn!!!!
