logic clock

Having a clock that reports the time of day to the wire network would be a nice idea. It could be used to turn on or off parts of the factory, for example to only run when solar energy is available. It could also be used to release hot water from a hot water tank into steam engines at dusk, replacing accumulators. I'm sure people will figure out more uses for such an item, even if it's just to display the time of day on a display.

I think the idea has some usages but not to control the energy production.
I would add,
- this device should provide the time in different forms, for example percent of day (
https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?title=Game-day ), as hour and as minute per hour, and as game-tick
- that such a combinator should also be used as a timer-device.

Clocks, useful idea!
I was thinking train timetable would be good too. leave at a set time of day.

I heard they will revamp the train scheduling and stations. Will they add logic wire support to them? Like have the station send the wagon's cargo or have a condition in the train schedule like stay until a wire condition is received?

About this theme: i think will be (or have to) added a logic timer. Maybe, it's bad idea, but useful in many cases in production. For example - you can take production time of any item.

Plus a daylight sensor outputting the light percentage as usable signal like you can see it for example in the EvoGUI mod would be useful as well.
I hope I am still within reach of the original topic with this idea.
