When we finally get to new planets thanks to the rockets I think they should have different day/night cycles for more interesting gameplay.

Carefully. They would require testing, to be sure, but what build doesn't?oLaudix wrote:How would you plan your solar then?
Except if you randomize each planet you would have to test it every single time.Wyrm wrote:Carefully. They would require testing, to be sure, but what build doesn't?oLaudix wrote:How would you plan your solar then?

just implement a combinator that puts out the intensity of the light as a number and count the ticks it's >0 on one decider and ==0 on another. then you figure out the maximum intensity and count the ticks it's at that max, and you have all the information you need to calculate the correct solar panel to accumulator ratio with the help of this topic https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... f=5&t=5594immibis wrote:So?oLaudix wrote:Except if you randomize each planet you would have to test it every single time.Wyrm wrote:Carefully. I was about to comment the same thingprovet wrote:It would also open up the possibility to say colonize a moon which have very long nights because of planetary eclipse
