Sorry, but I could not resist...lol
I tried so hard to resist, but just couldn't. You guys seriously need to hire Yuoki to do ALL your ingame graphics.
Im sure many people would agree.

Anyways, I love your game, and so addicted to it.

Since you want all graphics to be made by Yuoki and therefore that includes the graphics made by Albert.

I had a long discussion with Albert about Yuoki's graphics-style when I was in Prague in June.

We both think, that the style is fantastic, very creative, good ideas, but "too clean".

Albert explained me the graphic style of Factorio as "looking as if it would explode every moment, but it is indeed solid work, just a bit provisional, cause you are alone on this planet and need to fix things, as they happen."
Indeed the Factorio style is "provisional". It is working without any problems, but it could be made much better, if you have the right materials.
That's where Yuoki's style begins.

Indeed, a graphic artist has more work, if he tries to make a look, that looks provisional instead of clean (which doesn't mean, that Yuoki is a lazy bastard ).

maybe the factorio game devs can have both versions, and just have a switch in the menu, so users can pick.
I myself like the clean futuristic look Yuoki style (cue karate chop sound here). keeps me intrigued into the game. im all for the eye candy stuff

i like the vanilla-graphics too.
but for my mod did not want recolor vanilla-gfx so i make my own (and because i can ^^).

+(clean makes less work - so maybe a little bit lazy and not enough time so i focus on modelling not on textureing)

Your work looks too clean! Make it look makeshift and shoddy!

TOtally agree about that! Making something look rusty and look good is easier said than done !

for 3 reasons ... no
- i'am always 1 step behind after a factorio update with new buildungs etc. (also some gfx-details are hidden or need exact to match the specification - i remember to good my player-armor crashes & trys)
- i don't want split the player-base ... you can't possible post in "show your creation" - section with different gfx. (or nobody knows what you posted)
- it would be different looking, like a different game - you forced to learn images/icons again, and can't share your experience/give help to vanilla-players because the different look -> point 2

but i'am sure in the future someone will make a complete gfx-setup.

I'm fan of YuokiTani's work and I treat it as expansion. When vanilla game ends, YT mod begins and I love it. With that I can build factory and then improve it step-by-step, just by replacing old elements with new ones. I would like to have another mods with some futuristic buildings that look new and very modern.

i had read this sometimes the last 6?, 9? months ... but I did not meet all the other requirements (especially blender experience).

Eh, I think YuokiTani's work is worthy of laxing the requirements. From my very first foray into the modding section, your work was all over and it fit with Factorio. Even if it's for not, you certainly deserve a nod of recognition like this thread. We all do seriously appreciate your work.

I think the rusty, dirty graphics fit with the game, you are alone on this planet so who is going to clean everything and you won't be geting new shipments from earth will you. (all though I do like Yuoki's graphics )

The fact that this game had this art style reminded me of "retro" games, and is what initially caught my eye.

And did someone say that the art style needs to look like it can explode any any moment? Take some inspiration from KSP.
