Scrap Cleanup

Now that destroyed buildings leave a pile of scrap, it might be interesting to require that this be cleaned up before one can proceed to replacing the destroyed buildings, give them a little more impact on the game, rather than just eye candy.

* It should take about twice as long to clean up a pile of scrap as it would to pick up the intact building.
* When you clean up a pile of scrap, you should get a certain amount of scrap material in your inventory, based loosely off a percentage (25%-30% maybe less to keep people from using productivity modules to farm infinite material, though this would probably be WAY more labor intensive than just building some mines) of what went into the recipe. This material would take the form of "scrap iron" and "scrap copper" (I think would would probably be non-recoverable. Scrap iron or copper would need to be put into a furnace and re-smelted back into plates.

the "remove scrap buildings" part is a very good idea +1
about the "item giveback" part im not to sure if that is a good idea,
walls for exsample they cost 5 stone brick if you would give 20% back it wouln't feel like a "loss" when you get attacked

still tough +1

I think it would just be an annoyance when you'd first have to remove all leftover crap. Imagine you lost a rather large part of your factory, you have the materials to rebuild, but you can't, because you still have to clean up all of the mess left by the attack before you can rebuild.

As you might've guessed, I don't really like having to clean. I don't like it IRL and I sure won't like it while I'm playing a game.

It doesnt need to be something that takes a lot of time

In SimCity and other games, removing scrap (trees, uneven landscape, dirt etc.) just takes a bit more money. For Factorio it means: Placing needs a bit more time.

Hm. Don't really like that. Because it is questionable, what that brings for the gameplay.

I mean that in the end placing and removing items should be possible without using time, because I want to "plan", instead to really "build". Building should be done by my robots or so.

Or you could place entities on the scrap and the scrap dissapears.
It doesnt neceaarily need to take a long time, and your factory will hardly ever be destroyed (normally you get a bunch of walls destrolled, or nothing)

Would see that under nice to have. Cause when it needs only small time, then it can be also no time. :)
