TL;DR

Make spaceships fly from left to right instead of bottom to top.

What?

Make spaceships fly from left to right instead of bottom to top.

Why?

We have 16:9 screens, and spaceships would be easier to design that way.

Optional

Make the view flippable or rotaetable, so right-to-left reading cultures can have the ship flying in the "right" direction.

Not a bad idea, unfortunately I think it's way too late as it would break everyone's spaceship!

If there's just a setting to rotate the view, but not change anything in game, that wouldn't be too bad. Or are there any entities that can't be rotated, but treat a certain direction specially? (because then players would be totally confused)

All of my spaceships are wide, so they naturally fit my screen better. So they'd be broken by this change.

It's funny that building wide is non-optimal, but all the gui and errything else suggests otherwise

Non optimal for what?

While many of my ship are relatively tall+thin for speed, I have a few that are short and wide because they don't need speed, but do need lots of collectors - more of a combine harvester type shape.

Oh I find the wide ones most fun as well, but optimizing for speed the width is more important than the weight, as you know.

+1 to the rotate setting

It'd be nice to have more of my ship on screen, but rebuilding it all is a no-go at this point.

My “Gaming Desktop” is 7680 x 4320 (4x 4K displays)…. Unable to Reproduce.
