If having a complex circuit-controlled base, sometimes it might not be trivial to see which entities are connected using red and green wires, despite marking the electric wire networks of the hovered buildings.
Clicking an almost all buildings allows to view the number of the circuit network which it is connected to.
Power poles are the only exception I know.
This would be also a very kind feature when debugging large networks that do not fit into a single screen,
e.g. connecting main base with outpost.
Using this, interruptions of the electric networks could be also more easily found.
