I'm really not sure why, but the cargo landing pad snaps to a 2x2 grid (like rails do) but the rocket silo doesn't. Is there some necessary gameplay reason for this?

I had the bright idea tonight of running train tracks past the cargo landing pad to bulk collect the drops periodically, and found there's no way to do this. I'd have to either use long-handed inserters or buffer it across a belt... both of which would dramatically impact the throughput.

agreed, annoyed me too on aquilo, only costed me 1 heating pipe but still annoyed me enough to remember it lol

i assume the reason has to with cargo add-ons being similarly stuck to a 2x2 grid
