Display exact number of occurences of entities in blueprints

TL;DR
Display the exact number of occurences of an entity in the tooltip when hovering with the mouse over an entity in a blueprint.
What?
When holding the mouse over a component type of a blueprint, add the exact number of occurences of that entity after the name in the tooltip, just as is done in the production tab or electricty info. Consider for example the following two images. The first being from a blueprint, the second from the electric network info.
- 11-11-2024, 15-30-48.png (63.23 KiB) Viewed 314 times
- 11-11-2024, 15-36-24.png (31.27 KiB) Viewed 314 times
So I suggest that in the first image, the tooltip title displays "Express underground belt 7314" (if there are 7314), just as how the exact number of Solar panels is displayed in the second image.
Why?
TLDR: why not!
In other instances (production/power tab), the exact information is provided, and I see no reason why such information should be withheld in the case of blueprints. I plan to make a very large blueprint and do the construction using a big collection of spidertrons. For large amounts in the blueprint, the rounding as is can be pretty inprecise, which is undesireable when planning the logistic requests for the spidertrons.

Good idea, +1!
It would be cool if you got a green/red dot, like the one in the personal logistics UI, indicating whether the logistic network storage (plus your own inventory if you have personal roboport(s) and construction bots) is enough to build it.

I was under the impression that creating a logistic request from a blueprint was a thing. If it is, then why bother counting the number of items down to the unit ?

Not in vanilla. I could find the mod
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/LogisticRequestManager but it's outdated.
Still though, if the request would be for a spidertron it would be limited by its cargo size, which can quickly run into issues: one spidertron isn't going to carry 10k+ blue belts.

I'm sorry to insist, but I just tested, it has been implemented in 2.0. Just take a blueprint (or a Ctrl-C'd part of your factory), open your inventory, and drop what you hold in hand on the "Add logistic group" button. It will create a logistic group with exactly your blueprint's contents. Also works with Spidertron, but you need to have opened its inventory before grabbing the blueprint obviously..

Aah I completely missed that you can create a logisitic group that way, you're right sorry.
I'd still argue that using this method just to find out how much of each entity is in a blueprint is a bit of an awkward workaround, and that showing the amount in the tooltip directly would be still be nice, but its good to know an ingame workaround exists.
Thanks for letting me know
