Option to insert one module at a time without opening machine UI

TL;DR
It would be nice if you could insert modules one a time without needing to open the machine UI, speeding up and streamlining the process.

What?
Right now, we have a way to fill all module slots in a machine without opening its UI, but there isn't a quick way to insert one module at a time. You have to open up the machine UI before you can add modules one at a time, which makes the process more clunky.

The key I'd like to use for this would be Z, since I'm used to using that to insert one item at a time in the local view.
Why?
I keep trying to do this and it doesn't work. My personal use case is inserting efficiency modules into machines, since there's a cap of -80% and many machines have more slots than needed to hit the cap. It'd be nice if there was a way to quickly add a specific number of modules into that machine without opening the UI.

Not a big deal, not really necessary, but it would still be nice to have an option for this.

+1, expected this to work after reading the remote view FFF.

Yeah, this'd be a nice little UX improvement, and shouldn't conflict with anything else. 8-)

It's also not easily possible to copy/paste module layouts from machine to machine, the same way you can copy/paste its settings.

Neither is it possible to "flush" all the modules with one click.

It is currently quite finicky to deal with modules, especially now that there are 4x3x5 types of them, so this (& more related QoL) would be quite appreciated.

Uh, wait. I just tested this and it totally worked to insert efficiency-1 and speed-1 modules into my assembler-3. Is this buggy for you? It seems to work 100% of the time for me... :?:

In remote view? Nope, doesn't work here.

OK, then remote needs improvement. The original didn't mention it, so I was confused. 8-)

Agreed on making this easier. Especially, the ability to copy and paste when mixing modules is annoying.

It may be a mod, but I thought the green Alt+M button was added as part of the base game. You can right click to add a single module. However, it is finicky when mixing types or qualities. It also doesn't indicate what may be available or "choose best quality". So far from perfect.
