I'd like there to be lightning in space that can be collected by a lightning rod/collector.

With the lower solar output of aquilo, it would be nice to have a similar setup to fulgora with collecting lightning for accumulators and would push people to have some accumulators on a platform beyond solar. It would also help a little with variance in space, maybe have it in waves like the day cycle in fulgora. I'm not sure about the damage lightning could inflict to a ship though.

Lightning in space makes absolutely no sense. I'm OK with unrealistic game design decisions for the sake of gameplay, but this would be quite the stretch.

What about collecting energy from solar corona discharges?

lightning in space only makes no sense if there is a vacuum or void and no medium for it to pass through. oddly there is a lot of debris, asteroids, and a shattered planet in factorio space. some other video games have nebulas that have lightning storms. i'd like to think it's not that far of a stretch for electric to discharge from a shattered planet but i don't study space
