Currently, there are ten parameter signals, which are very useful. However, they would be even more useful if there were more signals. Currently, if you want to make a generic crafting blueprint with two machines (so both take out of the same chest), you can only use it when the number of ingredients for each recipe is four or less, so for example, this blueprint would not work to craft the rocket silo and portable fusion reactor. This is because there are 10 = 2*(1+4) signals, with one signal for the thing being crafted and four for the ingredients of each thing. If more signals were added, then a blueprint could be created which can craft items with more ingredients.

You can use the BP editor and set the recipe as a parameter. This would lock the machine into making this one thing but you then again gain an additioonal signall.
