I am begging you, please add the ability to press a number key on an item in the inventory (while your mouse is over it) and have it replace a ghost in your quickbar, it's a nightmare to use the quickbar since you added ghost items to replace real items (a longggg time ago).
This is something I have been hoping for for over 5 years and this game becomes unplayable after modular power armor IMO because how often I'm shuffling items from my inventory to my quickbar and vice-versa.

Just increase the amount of active quickbars you have. Its under Other in the interface settings
Also use the quickbar switching by pressing the number on the left of the quickbar.
Assign item/recipe to quickbar with keypress

TL;DR
Assign an item to a slot in the active quickbar with a single keypress.
What?
Simply the ability to press a key when hovering over an item or recipe in the inventory to assign it to a specific slot in the active quickbar. E.g. I'm hovering over the stone furnace recipe, I press ctrl+4 (configurable like all the other quickbar action keybinds), and I now have stone furnaces in slot 4 of the active quickbar.
Why?
Currently we can assign items to the quickbar by either "dragging" them from the inventory to the desired quickbar slot, or by clicking the quickbar slot and searching for the recipe. I believe it would be faster to assign slots with a single keypress in the inventory/recipes screen. Using ctrl+number to assign a keyboard shortcut is fairly standard in RTS games, so I believe this as a default would be intuitive for most players, but I'd expect it to be configurable.
This was something I realized I wanted after trying out a new tutorial playthrough (to see if anything had changed since I last played several years ago), since the quickbar resets each scenario of the tutorial and I have to go and reassign everything again. But it'd be nice for quickly rearranging the quickbar in normal gameplay too.
