Power switch loop warning
Power switches are rather easy to short circuit if you're not careful with them, and I recently flared off quite a bit of propene instead of making plastic out of it. Would it be practical to have power switches detect if both sides are on the same electrical network, and provide some kind of warning if the test returns positive? Something similar to the out-of-fuel or no-power warnings perhaps.

Re: Power switch loop warning
I like this. Wouldn't be too hard to implement either. Just show an icon if the electric networks are the same.
Re: Power switch loop warning
Maybe similar to the warning a rail signal makes when both sides of the signal belong to the same signal block?
Re: Power switch loop warning
When you do that with rail signals, it's definitely an error. But with power switch it might be just an "OR" (too lazy to place an extra combinator). So I think "hint" is O.K., but it is not an error and should not blink, warn or disturb in any case, cause I may have used the power switch just a bit "unorthodox".
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
