I've been thinking about alternate ways to play the game and interact with the biters. I think something involving plants/fruit/feeding biters might be cool. The basic idea is to have different plants you can grow and then harvest food which you can then feed to biters to pacify them and then use the biters to work in your factory. You would build farms and green houses, and feed them with water and fertilizer, manage the ph level of the soil (different plants have different requirements). You would have to collect seeds, so a certain percentage of your produce needs to be dedicated to seed production. You could cross pollinate species to create new varieties.

You could have refrigeration to keep fruits and vegetables longer. Food dispensers that pacify attacking biters - they'll eat the food until they are no longer angry. When you create advanced foods you can create pheromones and encourage the biters to build bases on ore patches and mine the ore. You can tap into biter bases to generate electricity. The more well fed the bases, the more electricity they provide, but will die if they aren't being fed.

I like the idea of taking over the world using mainly biology, allying with (or subjugating) the biters.

Can't we do both? Make peace with the biters and have a huge nuclear arsenal in case they break the peace (or we get bored.)
