I managed to get Factorio to run on my machine, but whenever I try to generate a new world, it does nothing after I hit "generate". It just stops. The game doesn't crash or anything. It just stops.
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
Try 0.12.16 first, maybe it has been fixed with that version

Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
Why are you using a windows version on Ubuntu? There is a linux version for 32 bit and 64 bit, which work smooth because I use them as well. Just unpack it and go into factorio/bin/.../ folder and double click to run factorio.
Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
I'm using the Windows version on Wine because it is most convenient for me. It worked perfectly fine on another, older machine that I used.prg wrote:mineus64 wrote:I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.Also try using the Linux version with that, not the Windows version in wine (or what are you doing there?)mineus64 wrote:0.038 Operating system: Windows XP Service Pack 3

Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
I'm sorry, but I won't accept bug reports from 0.12.3 (early experimental phase), when we have 0.12.16 already.
Get the 0.12.16 and if it doesn't work, make a new report please.

Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
tbh, I also wouldn't spend precious development time on problems with running the game in wine, since there's a native version availablekovarex wrote:I'm sorry, but I won't accept bug reports from 0.12.3 (early experimental phase), when we have 0.12.16 already.

I don't have OCD, I have CDO. It's the same, but with the letters in the correct order.
Re: Factorio won't generate a world (0.12.3)
Agreed. To my best knowledge, Factorio on Wine is completely untested, and I don't think we should spend our time supporting that configuration.Boogieman14 wrote:tbh, I also wouldn't spend precious development time on problems with running the game in wine, since there's a native version availablekovarex wrote:I'm sorry, but I won't accept bug reports from 0.12.3 (early experimental phase), when we have 0.12.16 already.
