Google [Bot] user shown when browsing forum.

This is useful for spammers as they can time their posts to make sure they get pulled into the google search index. As an example, someone posted a spam post that coincided while Google [Bot] was browsing.

There is also a nofollow tag that you should make sure gets added to outgoing links. I didn't see it in the html, but perhaps there is another way you're doing this via bot detection.

Googlebot is always browsing. Bingbot almost always is, as well. You used to be able to find Yahoo's bot sometimes, but I haven't seen that recently...

Spams that make it to the forum's users' eyes are extremely rare. And when they do, there are usually taken care of very quickly.
Moreover, I'm not sure a spambot can take advantage of googlebot crawling in real time.

Nope. We have a term we like to use around the office for sites like this - soft target.

I'm far from being a cybersec expert, I'll let the forum admins step up here if they see fit.

And yet, the proof is in the pudding. Far less spam here than I've seen on many other sites.

Again, it doesn't matter: it always shows that.
