I've seen many polls started by standard user accounts on this forum inb the past. However, I was contacted by someone who seems not to have the "Create poll" tab upon thread creation (neitner in Ideas and Suggestions, nor in the Off-topic suborum).
As a moderator, it seems I have the right to create one, so technically, the feature still exists.
Was the privilege deliberately removed to standard user accounts, or is it a bug in the standard user profile ?

Where's the button?

Had to ask google where that button was supposed to be. I don't see it for "New Topic" in "Off Topic". But i don't remember if i ever created a poll or if i've ever seen that button at all :D.

Can only be seen on the first post of a thread (upon creation or edition).

I can not see the button in the sections mentioned in the OP
But I can see it for example in "general discussion" and in "show your creations"

So it's not deactivated for some users but in some places

Looks like making polls needs a extra special privilege, which was not set on ideas and suggestions and off-topic

Not sure it is just random, or on purpose, enabling it now for those forums
