I noticed that
forum posts don't show up on google. Is the "expires:0" header to blame?

Maybe they should reconsider, because there's a lot of good advice on this forum.

I have no opinion to this, but recommend to learn, how the internal search works, cause when used correctly it's much better than any Search engine.

No, not really. The internal search engine is nearly always shit and will always stay that way, because the developers (of the forum itself) are no experts in search engines. Google is so much better, and implementing the Google Search Engine would create much better results - but that's not so easy.

You don't need to implement a Google Search Engine, you just need to unblock it.

both are right.
why force someone to do it your way, while google search is almust basic practice for 99,8% of normal (non ict) humans

Well, I force nobody. I just know, that the theme of changing something in the forum is very low priority and try to say, that the internal search is also very good. It's a good idea to learn it, if you plan to use this forum longer.

Yeah, everybody knows the best way to see if a thread was posted before is to just post your idea, and SSilk will either join it to the older thread, or post like 30 links if there is more then one previous occurence! /s

But when I put Factorio tree farm for example, it doesn't find the forum topic, just the wiki.

Any idea why is it so?

The subforums have custom permissions that you need to fix.
I believe you can do: Forums -> Forum permissions -> Select a forum -> (select all forums the bots should see) -> Submit.
Then on the next page, Add Groups -> Bots -> Add permissions.

Nvm, I made some fixes in the Bots group permissions, for reasons unknown to me, they had no access to lot of topics. Let's wait for a while and we shall see if it helped.
