Username change?

Hey all,
hope this is the right place for "forum support" questions.
I chose a pretty annoying-to-type username, since I hoped I could login with my email address, or choose separate display names and login names later on. But, well... You can't do that. 
So, is it allowed to change your username? If yes, could a mod change my username to "infinitysimplex"? (Simply all-lowercase letters, the same I have now.) That's a lot less painfull to type whenever my browser deletes al logins and cookies "by accident".
