Reply not saved when I'm timed out but log back in to post

There have been times on this forum where I've made rather long posts, only to hit the Reply button and find I was logged out due to not being active. Okay, I'll log back in and then hit back to get back to my work... Nope, it's not saved, I've lost all my work.

Yes, this can be solved by telling the forum to remember me and thus always have me logged in, but due to security concerns that's not always an option. Is there some way for the forum to remember our posts that we started typing while logged in, even if we end up being timed out for so-called "inactivity"? Perhaps I wasn't clicking enough for the forum to think I was active, but my typing would say otherwise.

What browser are you using? Cause with Firefox this was long time an issue, but I lost not one post since 3 years cause of that.
