Can you customize the number of posts or number of topics visible on a page? Having 1.5 pages of content before having to click to the next page is terribly frustrating.

Normal users can't, but you can ask the admins to increase it for the whole forum.

If I change that other users will definitely say "Oh no, so few post on a page, I need to click on next page all the time".
Because the number of posts per page is highly dependend on your screen-size.

So the only thing I can recomment to you now is to buy a new monitor.

Alas for email lists. At least then I choose how to view everything. In text... high density... no colors... no emoticons... not waiting ages for firefox to refresh a page.
