I think it's 3 or more, so you should be able to send private messages now.

Am I missing something or do I need three posts to reply to somebody's pm as well?

Ok so this thread is becoming a dump for people's third messages so they can start PM-ing now? ^^

just joined the forum in order to find multiplayers, not very great to post "hi i want to join your game please msg me" and then finding out that im not able to msg them.. anyway.. at least this counts as a post...

I do find this 3 post rule very useful,nice,wonderful,exciting,great

why cant i send a message
all i want to do is ask 1 person 1 thing about thare mods help

It is somewhat annoying since I want to contact a mod author that has no other public contact information listed but I am not able to.

I don't think that this restriction will achieve its goal either. Surely someone that wants to spam private messages would have no issue with spamming 3 posts anywhere in the forum, or staging a conversation among several puppet accounts to be less blatant.

The first post of each user needs to be approved. Until it is approved that user cannot post any posts that don't need to be approved. When one post is approved, the user can write new posts freely and they don't need approval.
Spambots usually won't get their posts approved so they cannot spam or start a "conversation" with another bot account.

Why do you want to contact a mod author by private message and not by a simple topic answer?

I noticed that I was able to send PMs after this one got approved, so it was good to learn I did not have to be artificially active up to a threshold.

I did not want to talk directly about the mod itself, but rather ask the mod author a question about several of their mods and about licensing. It isn't necessarily interesting to other users of the mod. The mod author doesn't have any other form of contact info listed anywhere either, so a PM seemed like the best way to initiate the conversation.

So that spammers don't register on the forum and spam everybody through PMs. For the same reason your first post needs to be approved by forum moderator.

That makes perfect sence

I've been a member for over 3 years, after some time it should think:

• "Hey, that's either not a spammer or the worst spammer ever, either way they should be allowed to send somebody a message."
