Just report one post, moderators have a mass delete button when they find a spambot.

So of the 284 posts I reported I only need to report one? *Sigh* Oh well, now I know.

In fact Moderators only have a "delete this post" button. Only administrators have a mass delete. :(

Question then is, does it help y'all at all if we report them all?

Absolutely not.
When one spam is hidden in the daily posts, it is indeed useful : when browsing the "new posts" page, it stands out. When there are zillions of spams done in a few minutes, one just can't miss it :)

Koub: I make this open, cause maybe others can learn about it.

You should use the "moderation control panel" a bit more: There is a mass-delete (and I've just tested, if you can see/use it)!
In short: Go into the forum, where the mass-spam is. Click on "moderation control panel". Marc the posts you want to delete. Select desired action "delete". Submit. :)
You can use the "search users post" in the user-info to see if you found all.

I hope it helps, if not just answer here or PM. ;)

With what you've said, I have found why I didn't have that mass delete option.
From the board index, the Moderator Control Panel links to this : https://forums.factorio.com/forum/mcp ... mode=front.

I had only used the Moderator control Panel from the board index, reason why I have never seen there was a mass delete option. I thought I would find the mass delete on the same page as the banning part : it makes sense, while banning a spambot, to delete all of its posts. Now I understand I have to get into one subforum, then into MCP, select all the spam from this forum, and mass delete, and this, for every subforum with spam.

Well, it will be faster than deleting all posts one by one : it took me one hour to delete this morning's 2-300 posts spam

@Koub: Haha, I learned it also the hard way. I thought: there MUST be a better way to delete spam if you are admin. And every found post said: "Use the moderator tools". And I said "WHAT? There is no mass delete, I need to be admin". But the posts said: "No, no, moderator". And then I found someone, which clearly explained that function. Step by step. And even then I didn't find it, cause I wasn't IN the board.

So, you are not alone...

Good advice for all moderators: Play around with the moderation tools. They are useful and have many abbreviations, like the select-field for the board on the top right and many such simple stuff, which is in the daily business quite useful. And even more, if your are in hectic.

There is a way to give moderators limited access to the admin panel, just enough to delete all posts.

Administration Control Panel -> Users and Groups -> Group Permissions -> Global Moderators -> Submit

Select Type: Admin Permissions -> Go
Advanced Permissions -> Users and Groups -> Can manage users -> Yes -> Apply Permissions
