My friend and I want to play MP quite a bit. He is across the pond I'm in Canada and he is a Animal Lover. I was wondering if there is still major issues playing with someone with 150-200MS Ping?

What still? Yet? I played with someone in Australia (I'm in UK) when 0.11 first came out and didn't have any major problems with it.

Well I did take a break for a while. Someone on IRC like a few days ago said was crashing and crap still with Multiplayer and a lot of issues with high ping. Maybe they lied

Was there not suppose to be an update a week ago btw? With ton of bug fixes.

He was probably talking about 11.15 which does break multiplayer, but it's no problem you can always use 11.14.

Factorio has a built in latency tolerance device, if you don't know how to use it you will have issues with high pings, so most likely he just didn't know how to use it.

I play with a guy from America sometimes and consistently get a ping 150-200, setting the latency to around 170 makes it seem like there's no lag at all, whereas using the default latency of 99 makes the game almost unplayable.

Fingers crossed the 11.16 update is coming this week sometime.

Okay thanks. I might just play some basic Single Player and wait for 16

I didn't have game-breaking problems while playing with 166ms ping.

I'm from Canada also and have played with fish and others in the UK with no problems.. I played with someone from russia for a little while once too.. 11.14 is the way to go, let's hope 11.16 is a big improvement
