would i need to make this file myself, or can i locate it somewhere?

preparing to set up a dedicated server, but i don't want to go to sleep, only to wake and find my stuffs burned to the ground

you either create one by banning "someone" to have the game generate it for you - or using a text editor vim/notepad++ with the following format: and place it in your factorio base/root directory

Banned: gapspring
Reason: Deconstruction of huge swaths of base.

Well, I have discovered something about deconstruct. The "built by" name of the object changes to the name of the player that ordered the deconstruct. so if you see anything with a red X on it, just check the "built by" name and you've got your griefer.


Was originally built by fleas, but mass-deconstructed by gapspring.

(Found this by loading previous autosaves, and checking the same object's owner before deconstruct.)

It seems to be that I am the first place griefer.

TopPredator just joined one of the "Official" servers and started griefing "until we provide a PvP server", all the while whining on chat about lack of PvP server.

That is absoluteley correct! I will continue until there is a PvP server where i can raid and kill legaly.

Be sure to watch highest quality as otherise you see nothing (too much going on, high compression artifacts). You may also need to play slow motion to see everything that happens

I was a little slow pressing the start recording button so you cant see him exchanging storage chests for normal chests (happened right before i started recording).
After i saw him manipulating the power, i wanted to make him leave and report him, but (the cut is here) then i wanted to record one more harmful act, so i waited and the nonsense request happened.
(Sorry 4 lag, forgot to disable gpu power saving mode.)

Unfortunatelly I have to report another griefer.

Player name: "scout15"

Destroyed an entire base on server "Kerihans Zockerbude | Headless, Vanille, 24/7" just about and hour ago.
Also dedicated himself in killing everyone. When spoken to, he replies with short remarks that we all should work on our pvp skills...
Admi had been away for about half an hour, no way whe could stop this player or warn the admin.
It really takes away pleasure in gaming.

It seems scout15 is not done yet, 1-2 hours later, he is at it again, hopping from server to server.

Evidence that cant be mistaken, this player is causing havoc and should be banned for life imho!

Hi, Mr. Ditto just griefed on our servers, destroyed several generator layouts and even admitted to it before I could speak my concerns that it must have been him because I saw him running on the map from that reactor to the other.

zrafe his friend, throwing grenades at us picking random pieces from the base, defending his friend despite everyone having seen him grief

anyway he called friends, amongst them one Cappie didn't get a screenshot tho for the past things going on
it also seems there are other kind of attacks possible on servers in terms of desyncing and making it crash

Arterion came in, removed pumps, walked around
Zrafe saw him first

after being called out by Everyone shortly after joining the server (A different one than yesterday) Zrafe started investing himself properly
doesn't change however that Everyone saw him griefing and called him out, afterwards Zrafe started helping everyone, apparently and he also called out Arterion

also I do believe Zrafe when he says he doesn't want to grief anymore, I just don't assume a 100% success chance

New 0.15.X builds fix this, just put the griefers into a "0 permissions" group with /permissions and add them in with everything disabled. Talk about pure torture, cant do squat but login and thats it. Lol
