Bob's Power: burn the sulphur!

Post by Imperio »

I really like your fluid burning boilers and how I can burn hydrogen/petrol gas in them. But hydrogen sulfide (H2S), a by-product of sour gas processing, also has a heating value! Maybe add that to the burnable fluids list?
For reference:
Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) gross heating value: 25038 kJ/m3
Hydrogen (H2) gross heating value: 12109 kJ/m3
Methane (CH4) gross heating value: 37669 kJ/m3

On a similar note, raw solid sulphur has a heating value about 1/3 or pure carbon. Maybe add burner energy to raw sulphur for burning in boilers?

If so, pollution modifier please. Sulfur in the air makes acid rain.

I mean, I'm not sure I want to add this, but if I did... yes, it would produce a lot of pollution, a very high pollution modifier, to the point any sane player wouldn't want to use it.

I'd also have to do all the conversions to figure out game values of these fluids. It's probably Divide by 20... unless the fluid has already been modified in other ways.

Also, yes, my Hydrogen already has the wrong fuel value for balance reasons. Deuterium holds the correct fuel value for Hydrogen, I felt that because it's so hard to get, there was no reason to nerf it.
