[0.12.x] Real Wood for Bob

I originally made this for myself because I was annoyed by the redundancy of the "synthetic wood" item but perhaps someone else could find it useful.

Completely removes synthetic wood and any recipes that require it (since they are all redundant with wood recipes), and changes recipes that yield synthetic wood to give wood instead. Will convert all in-game synthetic wood to wood if you add this mod in the middle of a game.

Requires bob's library. Very lightly tested (works on my save), let me know of any problems or incompatibilities with other mods.

0.12.3 fixed up module limitation lists, should be more compatible with different configurations

I don't know what's wrong with the link (the URL looks okay) but every time I click the link it asks me to log in, even if I'm already logged in, and upon logging in, takes me to the factoriomods homepage.

Well, Angeks Processing has synthetic wood from cellulose.

Maybe you can have a look at it.

my account at factoriomods is new and the mod isn't visible until it's been reviewed by a moderator, I guess. I blame my noobishness. I've removed that link from the OP until it becomes public.

Thanks! My solution was incomplete didn't alter the main_product of recipes since bobs doesn't seem to use that field. I've uploaded an updated version to the OP, please let me know how it works for you! (I only tested it in Foreman but the recipes seem to be updating properly)

Greetings! I've got a kind of a weird crash - happens with a few of Bob's mods (not the full set), or the full set plus Yukoi.

Here's what mods I load: and here's what happens

Just doorbobwood_0.12.2 and boblibrary_0.12.4: loads fine
Add bobplates_0.12.11: crash on load "Error in assignID, recipe with name 'polishing-wheel-synthetic' does not exist."
Add bobmodules_0.12.9: loads fine
Add Yuoki_0.2.46: crash on load with same error
Remove doorbobwood_0.12.2: loads fine
Remove bobmodules_0.12.9 (just biblibrary, bobplates, and Yuoki): loads fine
Add my current mod set (30+ mods, including most of Bob's Mods plus Yuoki and some others, except doorbobwood): loads fine

To put it another way, the following mod sets crash:
boblibrary_0.12.4, bobplates_0.12.11, doorbobwood_0.12.2 (loads fine without doorbobwood_0.12.2, or loads fine if bobmodules_0.12.9 is added)
boblibrary_0.12.4, bobplates_0.12.11, bobmodules_0.12.9, Yuoki_0.2.46, doorbobwood_0.12.2 (loads fine without doorbobwood_0.12.2).

Let me know if you need a link to the download for Yukoi Industries for debugging - I can't post a link in my first forum post :)

Maybe coincidence but with your mod, i can't craft wood chests anymore because i can't craft wooden boards.

Does anyone else encounter this?

I'm not sure why that would be happening. Can you post a list of mods you're running?

I get the same, looks like a recipe using resin and something else not on the menu.

That's a wood recipe from my processing mod. Same issue here as with researching plastics in bobs and the game only considering crafting boards from heavy oil. This issue is as far as I know the reason for having synthetic wood in the first place.

Works for me, thanks!

It loads okay and I can load a game, at least. I haven't tested if I also have the oil-to-planks problem. I'll let you know once I get to that tech level :)

You can "update" the mod fairly easily yourself.
Just open the zip you download, go in the folder "doorbobwood_0.12.3" and open the file "info.json".

The file is only 10 lines long, so no real searching is necesairy.
Now in here add the line EXACTLY:

"factorio_version": "0.14",
Between the "description" and "dependencies" lines.
Change the 14 to 13 if you want it to work with 0.13 instead.

Just one edit left to make!
In "dependencies", look for the "base >= 0.12.0" part. Just update the 12 here to 13 or 14, just like you did with "factorio_version".

It now should work!

Don't forget to backup your worlds just in case!

In the end your file should look something like this (for 0.14):
