Quick introduction to myself, I got Factorio a few days ago, love it. I looked around on the forums and the wiki, saw that there was a place to help out, and decided to join in.
I don't like wasting time, so I'll get started with things. If there's anything I need to know about this forum/wiki, I'd be appreciative of the help. I'm still a bit new with wiki's, but I speak English as a first language and know how to write.

I like to start at the beginning, so I was planning on starting with the main page. Unfortunately it says this on the main page:


I can't edit it.

There's really not much wrong with the main page other than some clumsy English. I wanted to make some minor edits to the page. I marked on an image below a few tidbits that need cleaning if someone else wants to do them since I don't have access. Red marks are sentences that need capital letters and Blue marks are sentences that need some slight rewording. My goal is for stuff to look professional.




Also, if someone could tell me or link to an article explaining what templates are, that would be really helpful.


Looking to help and looking to learn. If I'm doing anything wrong please tell me.

You can edit all contents of the boxes. The boxes are nothing else than "sub-pages" of the main-page, that are included into the boxes. We decided to make it so, cause if someone makes big edits he can only break one box and not the whole main page.

To edit, look into the category page (the categories-link is down at the main-page), the page is simply included:

Not all boxes are in this category yet, if not, the name of the box-page is the name of the page. And if you edit, add them to the main-category, please.

For example https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... Contribute is not in the main-category
but
https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... e/Concepts is!

Also, if someone could tell me or link to an article explaining what templates are, that would be really helpful.

Alright, I looked over templates, think I have a better understanding of them now. I found the subpages, thanks for pointing me to them.

I don't really plan to bother with them or any of the more technical stuff, I just enjoy clarifying, spellchecking, and grammar corrections. Nice, I think I'll read this Changelog https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... did=113435 several times, cause this is really a good way to perfect my English.
