Hi,

I have question regarding use of Factorio assets. Such as for example https://wiki.factorio.com/Steam on https://spaceexploration.miraheze.org/w ... :Steam.png is this proper way to credit the source?

Additionally there are some entities created/modified by Earendel, such as: https://spaceexploration.miraheze.org/w ... stream.png , do these also need to credited?

Hey, as Koub already pointed out, the game images on the Factorio wiki are subject to the copyright policy of the game, not that of the wiki. This is stated on the image pages, e.g. https://wiki.factorio.com/File:Steam.png.

The statement about copyright as it is present on the above linked page is what was agreed on was appropriate for Wube at the time (early February 2018, before I was hired). The Terms of Service have changed since then, but the Factorio wiki still uses the same statement about copyright on the game image pages.

So I would say that crediting the Factorio wiki (like you do right now) is a bit weird, since the wiki explicitly states that the game image is not under the wiki license, but instead subject to the copyright policies of the game. But I cannot give you advice on the copyright policies of the game.

For modified images, I have not dealt with those on the wiki, so I cannot give any perspective on them.

Disclaimer: Not legal advice, etc, etc. If you are looking for statements from Wube about the Factorio ToS, email support.
