$0.045 per hour of game play might very well be on the high side compared to most people but I've only played the game 5 times! This doesn't make sense!

I feel very much obliged to drop another $20 on a second Kickstarter for the next version/vision from Wube Software.

Any assistance with these feelings would be greatly appreciated.

heh, thats why I bought the game again when they released the steam version.

I only play the steam version about 1/10th of the time, and i'm still down to about 1 penny/hour myself on just that one... :)

(also bought a couple shirts to show some love)

I bought copies for all of my steam friends back in the day.

I bought the game before the price increase, back when it was still £15 (around $18-20), and I recently passed the 300 hour mark (had a few all-nighters in multiplayer  ), so that puts me at 5p per hour so far. As for spending more, I've been trying to get my brother to play it in the hopes that we can play together.

Dollar per hour played is such a poor metric to use, much take seriously, that its been debated as highly questionable for as long as its been a thing. When brought into the context of Modern MMOs, I can spend thousands of hours and feel less accomplished then one run of a rocket launch in Factorio that would take me like 40.

Which is why we desperately need to switch to a standardized unit of Fun.

https://www.fununit.com/examples

Code: Select all

Welcome to the home of the Fun Unit.

A fun unit is the unit for measuring fun. We have found scale of fun to be defined by two points, a Fun-Size Snickers(tm) being equal to one (1) fun unit. And a fun noodle is equal to ten (10) fun units.

We theorize that the range of fun is 0 to 100, as the most fun things have been determined to have fun units approaching 100. To this date nothing with a perfect 100 fun units has been found. 0 means no fun, whatsoever. The number of fun units that something has are a quantification of the magnitude of entertainment it provides, and the duration of such entertainment.
