Is there a shield tank mod?

The tank in the game is pretty bad atm, i'm looking for a mod that just adds in the ability to have a shield on the tank, like the power armor module. Do any of you guys know of any?

Is this real? I haven't fallen into a parallel timeline, have I?

Tip: The Tank is not a battering ram. It's a mobile weapons platform with some ability to crush enemies, its weapons are unsurpassed until atomic bomb is unlocked. The two sustainable ways to use the Tank are to drive evasively while machine gunning or cannoning down everything, or to drive slowly and support the Tank with personal roboport and capsules (especially poison, which the Tank is immune to, but the combat bots work well too).

one small note, when you first get the tank, and do not also have weapons research done, the weapons are extremely weak and may feel like they are not worth the time. this is largely correct, when you get the tank its a survival tool, not a dps tool, but as you research cannon damage/machine gun damage, AP ammo, ammo damage bonus, etc. they become very powerful.

that said, they have a short life span between when you need them to push back the aliens and the time where you just walk out with 10 personal shields and kill them yourself.

Not for the Machine Gun. +100% damage, +50% firing speed and 20 range are not weapon stats to scoff at. The wet noodle launcher and failthrower are another matter, they tend to need upgades to shine, but the Machine Gun is always beastly, starting like a SMG with high-tech bullet upgrades (plus longer range and no movement penalty when firing), and just gets even more beastly with upgrades and better ammo. But it's also a great weapons platform for deploying capsules from, poison capsules require no more tech than the tank itself (less actually), require no upgrades and when several are thrown to stack damage they'll kill everything except spawners (which are immune) and behemoths (which have too much hitpoints) - while poison capsules can be thrown on foot too, you can't lure biters into the poison clouds on foot because you'll die just as quickly as the biters.
