Request to switch News and Update Name on Forum Page

It bugs me that when I click on news, I get sent to threads about the latest updates, and when I click updates, I see the FFF's, in other words, news. Does anyone else feel this way?

In my opinion they should be switched. It is very confusing.

It bothered me for a few months but honestly, nowadays it just strikes me as being a pair of witty subtitles away from being a hilarious joke.

And seeing as I can in fact imagine exactly the subtitles... *the sound of chortling can be heard fading into the distance*

"News" is "newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events." (Google)

"Update" is "an act of bringing something or someone up to date, or an updated version of something." (Google)
It is also often used to refer to software patches or new versions (Windows Update is called "Windows Update" and not Windows News) and since we are dealing with software, it's the first thing that comes to mind because a "News" section is already there.

While the current names are grammatically correct, I agree that they should be changed. The word "Update" is being used as a "News Update" meaning that we are being informed, or updated, in what's going on with the development of Factorio. So what's the problem?

News
Information about releases and official stuff.

Updates
Hot news from the recent Factorio development.

The Updates section is mostly used to announce Friday Facts. When something other than Friday Facts is announced, it goes under "Updates." This announcement is news to us. Example: Paysafecard and Presentation

I suggest making these titles more clear:
News
Hot news from the recent Factorio development.

New Releases
Information about releases and official stuff.

I really don't understand why this "question" is not answered in the first post and then closed. Just rename them, it's obvious that the subforums are wrongly named, why do people have to argue about that? I really can't understand that. o_O

I guess: This is just, cause nobody, which reads it, has rights to this forum. And vice versa. :)

The English language is hard I guess. The only upsetting part is that some people just can't admit that they made a mistake in their English. It's backwards, just change it already.

I find it a bit of hilarious "Engrish" but if it were my site I'd be worried about professionalism.

You are welcome. It does make way more sense this way.
