Factorio 0.16.xx on GOG

Post by Balaezth »

Hi, im new but i have simple question, maybe you could help me.

Is there a releas date for Version 0.16.xx at GoG or the GoG-Galaxy?
Its able for Steam-users, why not for GoG?
Or do i have to download the game and install it manually?

Greetings

Only the non-experimental versions are available on GOG. If you want to try an experimental version then you can link your Factorio account (make one if you don't have it yet) to your GOG purchase. Your GOG page should show a code which you can submit here to link them.

I don't really like that myself (I buy on GOG to avoid this kind of stuff) and therefore also haven't done it, which means no mods, no experimentals, etc..

<edit>Here is a prior thread about it: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=38402</edit>

Yeah well i got a serial from GoG and make a Account on www.factorio.com
I put the Code in my Profil and the Membership say:

Transport Belt Repair Man (dont know what this means)

Alpha access
Your membership tier includes download of our current alpha version. The alpha is a work in progress and might contain bugs here and there. However by playing the alpha you can get the feeling of the game evolving. You can also provide ideas and other input on our forums and influence the direction of the game.

I even linked my Steamprofil to this Account.

Even on Gog i can play Mods and stuff, but the only 2 Versions are 0.15.32 and 0.15.40

If you linked your Steam account, you can play the game from Steam, even in 0.16 if you select the corresponding beta in the properties.
If you don't want to play via Steam, you can download the game from factorio.com, make sure to click on 'experimental release' at the top of the page.

No i cant 'cause its not in my Steam Library.... when i understood it correct: you get a Steam-key for Factorio if you buy the game from the HP, but you dont get a Steam-key if you buy from GoG

Yes, thats possible. And i might get it now, if you dont link your Acc with your Steam profil, you cant play the experimental version on steam either.
And because you cant link your Acc with a GoG-Acc (like with a Steam acc) you can only play experimental versions by direct download from the Homepage.

I dont understand why GoG-User cant link their Acc. like Steam-User, but i guess... thats the way it is.

So Thank you

It's a good thing they won't give steam keys from Factorio site to those who bought the game from GOG.. would be really depressing to see the total playtime on steam.. :)

You can see the total Playtime on GoG-Galaxy... like in Steam ^^
