What do I do now?

I am new to the game and I have spent two (irl) days making this factory and I am stuck on what to do next.

The main part of my factory is the research part all of the assemblers are assembling the parts to do research. I have all the basic oil buildings but I'm not sure what to do with the fuel I get.
A small part of my factory makes ammo so that all my turrets get auto refilled and the rest is just quarries and stuff (I might of missed a few things out)
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can create next? Thanks. (Sorry if I sounded nooby)

1) Do all the Research
2) Mack the Rocket defense https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... et_defense
3) Mack the bigist factor.
4) get 20,000 of Iron plate, Copper plate, Electronic circuit, Advanced circuit (or more 1 Rocket defense)
5) like me do all of them :D

Looks like you still need to research the oil products, then create batteries and plastic bars for the blue science packs.

Game Progression:
1. Basic defense - walls, gun turrets and ammo
2. Red Science
3. Green Science
and now, for you -
4. Basic Oil Refinery - Refinery taking crude and producing Heavy (put in storage), Light (put in storage) and Petro (use for batteries and advanced circuits)
5. Batteries and plastic - Petro to Sulfur to H2SO4 to batteries (1 each for now) and petro to plastic with coal
6. Blue Science - Advanced circuits, Steel, Batteries and smart inserters
7. Advanced Defense - Laser Turrets - should have advanced ammo at this point
8. Advanced oil refinery - put heavy oil into lubricant and crack the rest, crack light oil into petro
9. Mid game advance on aliens - take out the local camps for Alien artifacts - use poison capsule, distractors and car
10. Railroad to increase resources - unless you don't need - but they are fun!
11. Move to Mark 2 modular armor and destroyers (don't upgrade to destroyers until you have Mark 2)
12. Total conquest
13. Tinker with logic, robots and railroads until you feel the need to restart a new game

If you're having trouble working out the oil system, I have a tutorial on the complete process and a demonstration of it's use in a late game base.

You need to start making plastic for advanced circuits and also batteries so that you can set up blue science pack production and unlock a bunch of new technology, like the Iron Man suit!

Also you should build trains, because trains. There's a ton of stuff you haven't even touched yet!

Make a HUGE base that can auto-produce rocket defense. That's my end-game goal.

Get to Rocket defense. Trust me, that alone will keep you busy for a while.
