In a mid-game factory, how many resources I have to use for research rather than making new buildings?

I need to know for...mining productivity calculation purposes.

I don't have any ratios and such, but from my experience the infrastructure costs are pretty insignificant compared to science unless you are going big on solar or upgraded belts, then it is another big hit on iron.

Research by a lot. It's not too bad with green + red. It's about the cost of two inserters per each required. Base construction costs should be dominated by mining machines + AM's by this point, and those cost ~8x two inserters.

Then go to blue, which requires a mining machine + other fun stuff, + the red and green. And you'll need hundreds for each research. How many mining machines have you made by then? Then purple science is ~5x the cost of the first 3 combined per bottle and it only gets worse.

Science is expensive.
