Hard to see 'cos of the angle, but you need 2 chain signals where the 2 red blobs are;

Nope. This shouldn't happen even without that signals. Train suppose stop before signal if next block is occupied (even if that block is big and have multiple rails).
As I can see he have signals on each entrance to that block in center so train that arrived second should wait.
This crash could happen in v0.12 only when player drive train manually or train was placed after signal.

Let me clarify how this happened.
I was manually driving FARL (yellow) through the intersection while the automated Red train had already started entering it.
Then the red train just hit me and rubbed into FARL until it found a big enough gap to fit through.
I don't think trains should be able to fit between the cars like that...
Pretty amusing occurrence though

Why would you need a chain signal on the first run off to the north?
From my understanding chain signals are only needed when a track crosses another track?

Should be a normal signal I guess, it would take you closer to the 2nd vertical track.
I believe the rule is chain signals on the entry to a junction, and in them, then regular signals on other side/exit to the junction.
