Load distance

Is there a limitation for how far away from the player my machines are loaded? (Kinda like in vanilla minecraft) or will they always function no matter how far away I am? If there is a limit I might suggest adding it to the wiki somewhere (under concepts maybe)

I want to start expanding my production network with mines and quarries around the map with a train network bringing the materials in, but not if they won't function unless I'm near them.

Regards

I have not experienced any kind of limitation regarding your question.

Hello Glockshna, the limitation of this kind in Minecraft was one of the motivations to make Factorio :)
There are some limitations for unimportant things (Fishes + biters roaming around the spawner are not active when player is far away), but the rest, as kuba said works all the time.

You are far from alone. I have bought games YEARS ago that I still haven't played. Sometimes just because they were in a pack with a game I wanted to play

Heh, maybe steam wouldn't want us, because people would actually play the game, instead of just getting bored and buying other games soon :)

She stands at my desk and waits. Very irritating.

You don't have a girlfriend, have you? Then you would do this only two times: the first and the last... :)

Agree, it would only end terribly.
