I couldnt find the name of the planet anywhere.
So i guess we should name it ;)

My ideas:
  • Alzeri
  • Boudfor
  • Intrego
Maybe not the best, but its to get the ball rollin

Gratz, your 1000th post ;)

Famia or Famio is an option ;)

The planets name is also Factorio:

- the natives gave their planet a name, which sounds bit like "AA KTRR IOU" and the automatic translators (we need to research) translate it to "FACTORIO".

- The planet surrounds a big gas gigant (like Jupiter) and is the innermost and third biggest of this gigant. So they name it "Io" like the the Io around Jupiter. But that leads to confusions and so they renamed it to "Victory-Io", because the gas giants name is "Victory" (because the colony ship has managed so far before the accident). But the name changes then slowly to "Factor-Io", because they build that huge automatic factories on it and the gigantic air controls (also before the natives began to fight them). So at the end the name was "Factorio"

8-)

So the creepers are called factorions?
That seems unlikely ;)
And factorio as planet name is kinda lame :) (no offence)

How about ultimus spero (Latin) or továren oběžnice (Czech)
yes I used google translate :), and ok maybe not exactly original...

Love the reference to K-Pax btw :) and congrats on the 1000th post

Nooo... This is stupid. With this logic the live on earth are all earthions. Stupid. :) live on this planet has many forms and the names should reflect it. I hated always those science fiction which named the natives by the name of the planets. Aldebaraans for example. It's just rude to call someone a name, if he calls himself differently.

But this brings me to the point, that if you name the planet you need also to name the natives. An idea would be to name them like they name themselves.

That's ok. Catching ideas. :)

Some hours later I think the idea of Trucario is fine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_Cephei

Some of these stars out there should have planets, which are useable for live. Why shouldn't we take any of them? We don't need to invent some stupid stuff. I can post a list with those names.

Or the devs could give it some generic name (Gamma Cephei 2A for example) and allow the player to name it whatever they like when they land (or have x resources etc), though that would require a way to get input from the player (which could be useful in some mods I'm sure).

edit: Also, I'm sure the biters would have a scientific (latin) name with genus/species but I doubt our character is truly a scientist, so he'd use the term 'biter' since that is what they do :) I think I saw someone post a possibility somewhere but I'm not sure where.

worm- conspuentibus vermis
breeders- malus ova? Doesn't quite have the same tone to it... maybe putridus alvearium?

I dont think breeders shouldnt have a name, they arent a specie, they are like... A bird nest.
And I maybe different biters/worms shoulnt be the same specie (I hope small biters are a different specie/race because sending a kid to fight is cruel D:), but the same family (like cats and tigers )

Except that the hives are organic, living. Maybe not thinking but it is a 'species' of sorts, though it could be argued that they are part of the life cycle of biters...not sure how that works with other 'real' species (butterfly's are the closest I can think of off the top of my head, but they don't birth others simply transform theirselves).

First...So? It's not like they are human (and humans have done it, vikings, spartans, etc). Second if you like then, they aren't 'kids' per say, it's more like a 'coming of age' or the basic infantry of any army (not truly skilled but numerous), perhaps even 'clones' (asexual).
edit: or that they are simply mindless killers so there's nothing you can do about it, the name 'biter' or even 'Amarissimo Odiosum', just doesn't make me think 'intelligent being'
