So,

I was generating a new map to do a bit of testing, and ended up with that:


Fortunately, I wasn't planning to build a factory

worse would be to be surrounded by the perfect spawn, but be in the water and unable to move

I can't even be bothered to get tired of these posts now.

And this isn't even the worst since there is a tree on that island. I have seen islands that were smaller and without wood. So the headline is misleading:P

Agreed.

The only bad spawn that really is a bad spawn is one where you invest hours into building a factory only to find out that you're on an island barely bigger than your explored area.

Yeah I always run landfill just in case this happens.

Well ... i've had maps there couldn't even landfill help me. not enough stone and/or no land in sight.
But thats really bad RNG Trolls.

Just use commands to get stone.

This isn't bad at all. At least you know to restart early on. I spent 4 days working on a factory on a new map only to find out that it's a relatively large island. Needless to say, I eventually ran out of resources since I didn't have access to any more of them.

Sorry for joining in on the (admittedly quite dumb) spam of wierd RNG quirks, I didn't even think that other people had run into something similar.
