Bi-Directional belt bus

Has anyone played with this idea? So something like this for a "classic" 4way:

I played a couple of hours and the benefits are of course nice - you can inject anywhere in the bus into any line (fwd or back). Essentially a circular belt feels like a pipe :)

Downside is of course balancing the belt, my initial "balancers" quickly became a large mess..

Any thoughts/ideas?

Yeah, and looping belts become essential when dealing with looping recipes, like in the infamous Pyanodons.
Here's my Alien Life game :
(at that point, part of the vertical bus hadn't been fully placed yet)

Here, stone-related items are partially looped directly, partially by using trains.

Also, belt loops obviously become mandatory when using the advanced technique of
car belts
.
